<Protective Coatings for Corrosion-resistant>
The different types of corrosive attack can be classified as (i) general corrosion where the average rate of corrosion on the surface is uniform, and the failure rate is about 30% (ii) localized corrosion. The corresponding failure rate is about 70%. This type of corrosion comprises galvanic corrosion, inter-granular corrosion, pitting and transgranular corrosion. Galvanic corrosion occurs between two contact metal with different property in a conductive solution, which is called electrolyte. During the process, one of them starts to be corroded (anodic metal), while the other one (cathode metal)is unaffected. Type of electrolyte and surface contact area are two critical factors to the corrosion rate. In the case about protection of low-carbon iron part from atmospheric corrosion, nickel or aluminum/zinc are recommended to be the protective coatings. If coatings were sealed, property of corrosion resistant is further optimized, and almost no corrosion was observed after salt spray testing. The pores and oxidation content inside the coating dominate the corrosion-resistant property.
Plus Metal Tech (PMT) provides services of protective and functional coatings, such as wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, erosion-resistant, conductive and insulative coatings. Our thermal coating service is fully customized. Process choices depend on customer’s demands and the chosen materials. For any questions about surface treatment and enhancement, please do not hesitate to give us the message or email. We welcome for the discussion with you.
