B-type sprocket are fit for standard European chain standard, while equip with the matching pitch, lead to less vibration while transmitting.

Both B-type and C-type sprockets are simple-bore, which will easily cause tolerance between bore and axis, and are harder to install; therefore nowadays users tend to replace them with taper bush-type sprockets.
