The traveling bridge sludge collector is used for the settled solids removal and floating stuffs from clarifiers in water and wastewater treatment.
The traveling bridge collector is widely used in a corrosive environment. The sludge is relatively stable and the volume of sludge is expected. The mechanism consists of a sludge scraper blade carried by a bridge that spans the width of the tank. The bridge is mounted on 4 rigid wheels that ride on rails and travel on the length of the tank. The floatable solids appear, and a skimmer blade can also be furnished. There are only oils or other floatable are going to be removed. A skimmer blade without a bottom sludge scraper can be also furnished per customer requirement.
The design flexibility of the traveling bridge is capable to be used in many applications in API separator and light duty mill scale collectors. Primary sedimentation in sewage plant is application for this equipment.
