<Cathodic Corrosion Protection Aluminum Coating>
Aluminum, as a good electrical conductor, has a number of advantages as a coating metal. One of it is its durability to atmospheric, chemical and heat corrosion. Anodizing aluminum acts as excellent sacrificial coating metal on steel substrates because aluminum coating tends to form an oxide film to protect itself from exterior erosion. Therefore, aluminum coating is recommended for cathodic corrosion protection in atmospheric and salt water environment. The thickness of thermal spray aluminum coating can be thick enough to replace plating or paints. It can also be used as an undercoat to organic coatings and paints. Nowadays, several constructions and machinery utilize aluminum coating as corrosion protection metal, such as oil refining equipment, chemical processing equipment and boat bottom interiors exposed to bilge water and other similar types of exposure. If properly sprayed, aluminum coating can last from 15 to 50 years without maintenance.
Plus Metal Tech (PMT) provides services of protective and functional coatings, such as wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, erosion-resistant, conductive and insulative coatings. Our thermal coating service is fully customized. Process choices depend on customer’s demands and the chosen materials. For any questions about surface treatment and enhancement, please do not hesitate to give us the message or email. We welcome for the discussion with you.
