- Nylon or Polyamide tubing
- Tubing cutter
- Appropriate wrenches
Procedure:
- Verification of Components: Begin by ensuring all parts are free of defects, clean, and conform to the standards for your air brake system.
- Tube Preparation: Use the tubing cutter to cut the tubing to the required length, ensuring the cut is straight and clean. This is essential for a secure connection.
- Introducing Straight Unions: For straight unions, insert the cut ends of the tubing into each end of the union, pushing firmly to ensure a secure fit. Then tighten the nut on the fitting using a wrench.
- Introducing Union Elbows: If your system needs a change in direction, you will need to use a union elbow. To introduce the union elbow, insert the cut ends of the tubing into the ends of the elbow fitting. Adjust the fitting to match the desired angle before tightening the nuts.
